D4vd Murder Case Hearing Reveals Messages About Alleged Pregnancy Before Teen's Death
A Los Angeles court has heard text messages allegedly exchanged between singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, and Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the 14-year-old girl whose death is at the center of a high-profile murder case.
During a pre-trial hearing, prosecutors presented messages they say show the teenager had become pregnant and later underwent an abortion before her death. Burke has pleaded not guilty to charges including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and mutilation of human remains.
Prosecutors Present Text Messages in Court
According to prosecutors, text conversations recovered from Burke's phone included discussions about a pregnancy and abortion dating back to 2024.
Investigators told the court the messages formed part of the evidence they allege demonstrates an ongoing relationship between Burke and the victim, who was under the age of consent.
The court also heard that prosecutors recovered conversations discussing future plans together and other personal exchanges between the pair.
Abuse Allegations Central to Case
Prosecutors allege Burke met Hernandez online when she was 11 years old and later sexually abused her while she was a minor.
They claim the teenager was killed after threatening to expose the alleged abuse. Burke has denied all criminal allegations against him.
The court was also told investigators recovered photographs and digital evidence from Burke's devices that prosecutors say support their case.
Medical and Forensic Evidence Reviewed
A forensic pathologist testified that the advanced state of decomposition made it difficult to determine the exact time of Hernandez's death.
Police investigators also testified that DNA recovered from blood found at Burke's residence allegedly matched the victim.
Defense attorneys questioned aspects of the forensic evidence during cross-examination and challenged prosecutors' timeline.
Investigation Continues Ahead of Trial
Hernandez was reported missing after she was last seen at Burke's residence in April 2025. Her remains were later discovered inside the front trunk of a Tesla in September 2025.
The singer, who gained international attention through viral music releases on TikTok, was arrested in April 2026 following the investigation.
The ongoing hearing will determine whether prosecutors have presented sufficient evidence for the case to proceed to trial. Testimony is expected to continue in the coming days.
