Corrections Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Accuracy is the foundation of our journalism. When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and transparently.
1. Reporting an Error
If you believe we have published an inaccuracy, please email info@globalalfanews.com with the subject line "Correction Request", the URL of the article, the specific error, and supporting evidence.
2. Review Process
Every correction request is reviewed by an editor not involved in the original story. We aim to respond within 48 hours on business days.
3. How We Correct
- Factual errors: The article is updated inline and a correction note is added at the bottom stating what was changed, when, and why.
- Significant errors: The correction note is placed at the top of the article as well as the bottom, and the piece is re-published to our homepage where appropriate.
- Retractions: Where a story is fundamentally wrong, we retract it in full, explain the reason, and leave the retraction notice in place at the original URL.
4. Editorial Judgement vs Factual Error
We distinguish between factual corrections (which we make) and disagreements over editorial judgement or opinion (which we do not treat as corrections). Where disagreement is substantive, we may publish a Letter to the Editor.
5. Transparency
We do not silently edit published stories. Any material change post-publication is noted in the article.
